July 11th -I saw Order of the Phoenix on opening night at midnight with Mrs. Leal and Mrs. Minor and friends. Mrs. Minor and her son were there at 8:30 so they were the 2nd people in line. Thank goodness. We got great seats, but it was hard to see some of the dark scenes, like in the forest.
I saw it again the following morning with my family in Tulare and the picture was much clearer. I still would like to see it on an IMAX screne we’ll see!
July 21st – I wanted to go to the midnight release party, but figured if I did, I wouldn’t be able to stay up long to read and I wanted to read it all the way through the first time. So I waited until my copy came in the mail from Amazon about 8:45. I read all the way through to the end, with a few breaks, and finished shortly after midnight.
I loved most of it, but was disappointed by some stuff that was left out that I wanted to know. Of course, I cried on some parts, ok lots of parts. I won’t spoil it here if you haven’t read it yet, but I hope to hear from some of you who have read it. What did you love or hate?
I loved the last scene between Voldemort and Harry! I also loved Neville, he has changed so much as a character. I was soo excited about how he came through in the end, he is a true Griffindor!!

Thank God someone else around here found out. All of the trailers on TV and posters at the movie theatre say the movie comes out July 13. But on mugglenet it says Warner Brothers shortened it probably to make more time in between movie and book. And yes I will definetely be at the bookstore. But I’m not setting up a tent a day before the release outside the bookstore. But I’ll probably stat up until midnight and watch the mugglenet countdown go to 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, and 0, seconds.

There is a “Potter Party” at the Borders in Visalia. Mrs. Minor is checking in to whether or not the Borders Express in Hanford is having one. I’ll put up info about them as I get it. Although I ordered a book throgh Amazon, I think it would be fun to be at the store at midnight when the book is released with people who are as psyched about it as I am!

A Potter Party! I’ll have to ask my mom! It would be so cool. The only reason why I’m not setting up a tent is that my mom said she’s not going to do it. She called me nuts to even ask. I said, “I’m not nuts I’m just a HUGE FAN!

Woahooo! My mom said I can probably go. She’s also considering going to the bookstore at midnight! This is the best day of my life. (Other than July 21, 2007)

I just went to the borders website and I searched the locations of where there having the party so I can find the timings. It didn’t list any about Visailia(don’t know if I spelled it right) . The only one in CA is in San Jose. Where did you here that they were having one in Visailia?

Ok, I just went to the leaky cauldron and saw that post containing the information about the partys. So apparently Borders is not up to date on there website. Forget everything I said in the last comment.

plus Mrs. Minor said she talked to someone who worked at the store in Hanford when she reserved her book, and that person said they were having one too, although it’s not listed on the site above.

Thanks for the website to go to. I’ll do a little researching and see what I can find out.

I just found something new out! I went to google and typed in Potter Parties. On the first entrie it says potter parties are for fans 14 and over. It only says that text on the preveiw before you hit the link. It does not say that on the link. It said a specific partie called Harry potter and the Casa Loma Party. I don’t know what this means. It could mean all potter parties or just that one. If it’s all potter parties in America then that’s ridiculous. I will look on all the pages on Potter Parties for more info

Ok, I just found out that it was only for that party. I wonder if it costs money to go to this?
June 11th, 2007 at 5:35 pm
I’m encouraged by your enthusiasm Brandon!
I believe most of the Potter Parties are aimed at all ages and don’t cost money. If there is a cost it may be the cost of the book. I have a friend who took her kids to openings of the last two books. They had their own neighborhood party in the evening before the book came out by watching the movies and eating things like pumpkin pasties and “butterbeer”, then all went to the bookstore for the midnight release. I’m sure there must be LOTS of sites with ideas for celebrating. You should get together with some of your friends who are Potter fans and brainstorm some ideas to celebrate and you could have your own Potter Party (then your mom wouldn’t have to take you out at midnight).
Keep researching!

I only have 1 friend who likes HP. My other friends don’t like HP because they get annoyed with me talking about it all the time. Did you see the ideas that they had for a party on the actual. There really cool!

We got the book too, but Annissa had dibs on it first! ;-( I have been avoiding the websites with spoilers, until yesterday. I saw an interview with Jk Rowling and Merideth Viera where she spilled some secrets. I changed the channel! Annissa needs to hurry up! Since summer is running short, I might buy the audio version…

I have both if you want to borrow .

by the way Mrs. Escobedo, you should go back and look at those interviews when you are done reading the book (they are on Leaky Cauldron). She answers some questions that aren’t answered in the book.
